Hoosier Cryptids: The Beast of Busco

June 8, 2019

In the summer of 1949, a sighting by a few men at Churubusco's Fulk Lake would change the small, northeast Indiana town forever.

They saw what they all believed to be a massive turtle, said to be the size of the roof of a car or a dining room table. It didn't take long for their story to be picked up by the town - and later, the national media.

What started as a strange sight spiraled into a town-wide hunt for the "Beast of Busco," and, soonafter, world news.

On this new episode of [Indi]android, we're looking back at the hunt, the legend and how it continues to impact Churubusco today.
