About Soul Kitchen with Brother William

Join host Brother William Morris for tunes with a groove and music with a message, Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 to 10 p.m. The Soul Kitchen blends sweet soul, funky jazz, old school rock, Americana, and world music into a flavorful gumbo for the ears and spirit. Mixing these genres of sound with a dash of message gives WFIU listeners a menu of music that comes from the soul.

About the Host

William Morris

Apart from his full-time job as an attorney, Brother William Morris loves to share music from a variety of genres: jazz, blues, gospel, rock 'n roll, world music and Americana. A native Hoosier, William claims that "Music has chased me every step of the way"—through chapters in Newark, NJ, Washington, DC, and Chapel Hill, North Carolina, as well as pitstops in Guatemala, Mexico, Europe and the Caribbean. He and his wife, Sarah, share a deep love for live music and count among their favorites: Mavis Staples, Willie Nelson, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Bobby McFerrin, Iris Dement, Booker T. Jones and ALL the great jazz shows at Bears Place in Bloomington.
