Radio-TV Services’ production studios are available for live or recorded programming in high definition.
Our production studios are adaptable to suit your requirements. Whether you require a small, quiet space to record an intimate on-camera message, or you have a large production that demands a large set backdrop, we can accommodate your needs.
Besides video production, our large studio can also serve as a satisfactory location for classroom instruction, training sessions, events, and still photography projects.
Our Studios and Control Room
Studio 6 measures 89’x55’x20’. The 20’ high lighting grid is accessible via 32 lighting battens. When first constructed, it was the largest television studio east of the Mississippi River; it still is one of the largest television studios in the country.
Control 6 is a high definition control facility that serves as the base for our studio productions. This post has the following equipment: a 3 ½ M/E HD switcher, an Evertz monitor wall, video CCU control, graphics, teleprompter, multiple producer intercom stations, access to digital audio, and access to a multiple format record/playback room.
Studio N is a headshot/insert studio only. It features a fixed HD headshot camera, teleprompter, and microphone/IFB setup.
RTVS offers a single HD camera “headshot” broadcast television studio facility, with IFB and microphone, complete with HD 1080i fiber transmission (2-way). The fiber transmission path is from the IU-RTVS master control (on the Bloomington campus), to sister PBS affiliate WFYI-Indianapolis. WFYI can turnaround fiber transmission to “The Switch” for outbound worldwide reach.
RTVS also offers single HD camera Skype interview capability, with IFB and microphone, from the same “headshot” studio.
For broadcast audio-only, RTVS offers audio-only interview capability from either its “headshot” studio, or, from NPR radio affiliate station WFIU (on the Bloomington campus). Transmission is via ISDN connection.
