Sylvia Nasar is an economist and author best known for her biography of John Nash, A Beautiful Mind, and is a professor of business journalism at Columbia University. She grew up in Germany and Turkey and was trained as an economist. She was a New York Times economics correspondent, staff writer at Fortune, and columnist at U.S. News & World Report. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, Newsweek, the London Telegraph and numerous other publications. She co-edited The Essential John Nash and is writing a narrative history about 20th century economic thinkers.
