Artist Jim Walker and the Big Car Collaborative

Jim Walker

This week, a conversation about the role of art in public policymaking. Our guest is Jim Walker, CEO and Lead Artist of Big Car Collaborative, a nonprofit arts organization and collective of artists based in Indianapolis.

WFIU's Will Murphy and Aubrey Seader tour the organization's Indianapolis headquarters, called The Tube Factory, and speak with Big Car's co-founder Shauta Marsh.

In addition to Indianapolis, Big Car is active in other communities and collaborates with artists from around the world. It's difficult to describe what this ambitious and diverse group of people are up to, because they use terms "Placemaking Social Practice Art" and "Tactical Urbanism."
