Poetry of A. Loudermilk
A fresh and interesting voice on The Poets Weave, we read from the poet A. Loudermilk’s book Strange Valentine, which received a Crab Orchard Series in Poetry First Book Award in 2004.
A. Loudermilk is also the author of The Daughterliest Son, which won the Swan Scythe Press Chapbook Competition and was published in 2002. Additionally he is a winner of The Chas B. Wood Award for Distinguished Writing from Carolina Quarterly, the Phyllis Smart Young Prize in Poetry, and the Cream City Review Poetry Prize. His poems have been published in Tin House, The Redneck Review, The Louisville Review, Margie, The Mississippi Review, and other journals. His essays have been printed Journal X, River Teeth, The Journal of Consumer Culture, and the Journal of International Women’s Studies. He lives in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Jenny Kander, Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Jenny Kander moved to Bloomington in 1992. She received a Masters degree from the University of South Africa, and practiced as a grief counselor for 25 years before retiring in 1994 to focus on writing poetry. In 1999, Jenny began presenting The Poets Weave for WFIU. In her free time, Jenny enjoys writing, gardening, and knitting.
