All their yesterdays: this "birth of a band" document of the Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Orchestra was just one of several notable 2016 releases from Resonance Records.

On this edition of Night Lights I take a look back at some of the year’s most interesting and compelling reissues and historical releases, including never-before-heard broadcasts from Count Basie and Lester Young, a lost Bill Evans album, the birth of one of the modern era’s most significant big bands, and much more.
