Moment of Indiana History
Mail delivery in Indiana was uncertain until 1800, when the postal service established a weekly there-and-back-again route from Vincennes to Louisville.
One early publisher apologized, “Want of paper compels me to furnish my readers with but half a sheet. I expect a supply before another publication day.”
