Step into 1945 at the Indiana Historical Society

Even with virtual reality, an actual time-machine may still be beyond the grasp of modern technology-but the Indiana Historical Society has constructed the next best thing, by recreating the sights, sounds, and staff of a 1945 Terre Haute grocery store.  WFIU’s David Brent Johnson went to Indianapolis to investigate.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, David Brent Johnson moved to Bloomington in 1991. He is an alumnus of Indiana University, and began working with WFIU in 2002. Currently, David serves as jazz producer and systems coordinator at the station. His interests include literature, history, music, writing, and movies.
