The robot is disguised to look just like a real fish, well at least real enough to trick the other fish!
Biotechnology just got sneakier.
A computer-operated model of a three-spined stickleback has been appropriately named Robofish. This robot is disguised to look just like a real stickleback — well, at least real enough to trick the other fish!
The point of this deception is for biologists to be able to learn more about the social behavior of these fish. But first, Robofish needs to be accepted as one of their own…
