Ok – maybe I’m projecting, but there’s a reason one of the most popular weapons in all of pop culture has been so enduring. Lightsabers are cool.
In the past, the fantasy of taking down waves of Stormtroopers or deflecting blaster bolts is something Star Wars fans have been resigned to just dreaming about. But more and more programs are popping up to make that fantasy a reality.
How can you wield a lightsaber in real life? It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you.
But it is something the Indy Lightsaber Academy in Indianapolis will. For the past few years, the group has been holding weekly lessons and participating in the occasional competition. The curriculum is a mix of aerobic exercise and martial arts, all to show you how to fight with your saber with the best form and technique. Plus, you get a workout in the process.
