This week on Afterglow we'll feature music from the last five years of Nat King Cole's career, a period that found him singing everything from pop, novelty, and big band numbers to country-western and show tunes.
We'll devote an entire set to his masterful late-night torch-ballad record Where Did Everyone Go , and we'll hear Cole's collaborations with George Shearing and Billy May, plus more music drawn from the new Bear Family collection, L-O-V-E .
Other artists on this edition of Afterglow include pianists Duke Jordan and Hank Jones, Johnny Hodges with Billy Strayhorn, bandleader and arranger Onzy Matthews, and singer Kurt Elling.
