Where or When With Buselli-Wallarab

Music from a recent CD by the Buselli-Wallarab Orchestra this week on Afterglow, featuring trombonist Brent Wallarab's stellar arrangements of some classic American popular songs like Alec Wilder's "I'll Be Around" and Lerner and Loewe's "I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face," with Everett Greene taking vocal honors on some tracks.

There's also music from singer Nichelle Nichols--better known to most people as the first Lieutenant Uhura on the original Star Trek television series of the late 1960s. In 1968 she put out an album called Down to Earth (how did they ever come up with that title?).

Ballads from saxophonists Charles McPherson and Joe Lovano as well as singer Melody Gardot round out the show.
