“Collaborating with the staff of Radio/Television Services to document a major two-day conference “Reclaiming the Right to Rock: Black Experiences in Rock Music” sponsored by the Archives of African American Music and Culture, IUB was one of the best decisions I’ve made as director of this unit. The highly professional staff provided a carefully crafted plan, met with my staff and me on several occasions to discuss the execution of every detail, and offered creative ideas for the stage set-up, use of props, approaches to on-camera interviews, and the management the Q & A that followed each of the three conference sessions. The quality of the production was excellent. I am told that we set the standard for staging a documentary-oriented conference.”
