First, we celebrate the career of long-time Indiana University professor George Pinney, who retired this year after decades teaching students how to survive both in and outside the musical theatre. Aubrey Seader reports.
Next, Yaël Ksander speaks with Indiana University professors Scott Russell Sanders and Jeffrey Wolin. In 1985, Sanders and Wolin wrote Stone Country, a book that documented the lives that surround Indiana's two-century-old limestone Industry.
Sanders wrote about and Wolin photographed the workers, the machinery, and the quarried landscape. More than thirty years later the duo returned to examine what had changed in an industry that still dominates southern Indiana in Stone Country: Then and Now.
The program concludes with fiction from Bloomington storyteller Arbutus Cunningham.
