King's Music, the beloved English early music publishing company, has gone bankrupt along with its guiding light and owner, Clifford Bartlett.

Their demise is due to alleged fraud on the part of a photocopier salesman. An investigation has been underway.

For many years, King's Music provided professionals and enthusiasts, alike, with hard-to-find editions of music from the 18th Century. They were an invaluable resource for English and Italian repertoire.

Not all hope is lost, however. The Early Music Company is now handling orders for King's Music catalog items (facsimiles and editions), including Early Music Review, among others.
