Episode 91 - Discussing Exploitation Films With David Church
On this week's episode, we invite Communication and Culture grad student David Church to talk about his class about exploitation film. We find out how he's tackling the subject and how exploitation film has changed and influenced mainstream films.
We start off with What Have You Seen Lately and Jason is covering an older Ridley Scott film, and Andy talks about one of the best documentaries he's ever seen.
We then get into the main topic. David tells us about which films he's showing, what kind of materials are being read, and how he hopes to educate students about this genre and how it has influenced modern film. Be warned, we do cover some mature subjects. But it's a fascinating discussion about the history of exploitation films.
