Photographs by Hiroshi Sugimoto

Indiana University's Art Museum features fifteen black-and-white photos by world renowned photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto in the exhibit, "Transcendent."

Curator, Nan Brewer describes Sugimoto's artistic style.

"The exhibition is called 'Transcendent' because I was struck when looking at these works how he's interested in the passage through time and space as well as from various physical states: from air to water; or even spiritual states: from heavenly to earthly. And he seems to like showing more than just one moment in time, but depicting in some ways a sequence of time in one image."

The exhibit is on display daily at the IU Art Museum until May 10th.
