The Lilly Library's Puzzling Collection

When most people think of a library, what comes to mind? A dimly lit, quiet, hands-off kind of place.  Add the words "rare books, manuscripts and special collections" and white gloves pop into the picture along with a long list of rules you don't have time to read.

As WFIU's David Wood found out, the Lilly Library at Indiana University is changing that perception. And what better way to get hands-on than with a collection of mechanical puzzles? David spoke with the Lilly's new Curator of Puzzles.

The Slocum Puzzle Room is open during library hours with puzzles for you to explore on your own. Currently, an online database is under development with images of many of the puzzles.
