Kenari Quartet Performs Live

two men play saxophones

During the 10am hour of Classical Music with George Walker, the award-winning Kenari Quartet stopped by for a live, in-studio performance. The saxophone quartet takes its name from the Indonesian name for the canary songbird, but these talented songbirds have put their names on the map with recent wins at the Plowman Chamber Music Competition and the J. C. Arriaga Chamber Music Competition.

The ensemble is comprised of Jacobs School of Music students Bob Eason (soprano), Durand Jones (alto), Corey Dundee (tenor), and Steven Banks (baritone), and they performed music of Astor Piazzolla, Jun Nagao, and a Prelude by Nikolai Kapustin arranged for the quartet by Dundee.
