Seth Bazacas Back In How the Grinch Stole Christmas

A new tour of How the Grinch Stole Christmas getting underway at the IU Auditorium brings actor Seth Bazacas back to Bloomington. Bazacas played Huck Finn in last March's Cardinal Stage Company production Big River.

The busy actor plays the part of young Max. Max is the Grinch's dog and best friend. Bazacas says that his approach to the new role is quite different than it was for playing Huck. "Huck is very concerned with real ethical decisions about slavery," notes Bazacas. "I spent a lot of time with his thinking. It was a sort of inside out look. For Max, it was mostly a physical approach. I spent a lot of time watching dogs to see how they actually act."

The actor's gymnastic and dance skills were very much on display as he played Huck in Big River. "Yes and the choreographer for How the Grinch Stole Christmas has picked up on those as well," he says.  "With a very clever costume that has Max sometimes on four and sometimes on two legs there are some pretty intricate athletic sequences in this show as well."

How the Grinch Stole Christmas plays Thursday and Friday, November 15 and 16, 2012 at 7 pm in the IU Auditorium
