Digital1229 INbox Correspondent
Digital 1229, the web-exclusive branch of Indiana Public Media, is looking for correspondents to contribute to the INbox. The INbox is a regular look at projects and events that are put together for Hoosiers and/or by Hoosiers, all the while educating the audience about or better connecting them with their community.
But we don’t want it to be enough to write a post saying, “Hey, look at this cool thing.” Rather, INbox posts should be a deeper dive that ask, “Why is this thing cool and what are the stories behind it?”
Correspondents should be confident and capable writers who are strongly connected to their communities and able to track down new stories. They should also be comfortable with interviewing story subjects whenever possible, either in person or over phone/email. And finally, they should be eager to take advantage of the freedoms web content allows, like the use of multimedia and interactivity. Social media skills and audio/video editing skills are big pluses.
If you love to write and love to showcase what makes Indiana special, send your resume and three samples (links or attachments) to Payton Knobeloch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
