For over 20 years, local historian Larry Shute worked on building a mini version of his beloved hometown Solsberry in his garage. Complete with working traffic lights and train signals, he created every minute detail of the model to scale with amazing accuracy. A long-time champion of Greene County, Shute wanted to preserve the special memory of life in small-town U.S.A.

One of Greene County’s true hidden treasures, the Canyon Forest Nature Preserve is a stunning 68-acre property operated by the Sycamore Land Trust. Along the 1.6 mile loop, you can discover unique sandstone outcroppings, uncommon plant life, and the peaceful sounds of seasonal streams and waterfalls.

Linton resident John Cotter has been attending the famous Linton Freedom Festival for decades. In this video, Cotter gives us a behind-the-scenes look at how he comes up with the designs and construction of his parade floats, which thousands of people enjoy every year at Indiana’s largest July 4th parade.
