Indiana ADHD Diagnoses Second Highest In Nation

Ritalin ADHD Medication

Indiana ranks second in the nation for the number of 2-17 year olds who take medication for ADHD, according to Centers for Disease Control statistics.

Indiana falls just below Louisiana with 9 percent of children diagnosed with the disorder and taking medication, while 2.7 percent have been diagnosed but are not taking medication.

The CDC indicates the rates reflect a rise in ADHD diagnosis throughout the country.

This week, we'll talk with physicians and ADHD support professionals to examine what's behind the rise in diagnoses and what medical treatments could mean for children as they grow into adulthood.
