The lighter snow flurries in recent days are just the beginning of snowfall events anticipated in the next week. The “Canadian clipper” is a quick-moving, low-pressure system that originates in Canada. It typically brings stronger winds but smaller snow amounts, usually less than 3 inches.
The system will sweep through Indiana on Sunday morning with snowfall estimates of 1 to 2 inches in just a few hours in central Indiana before the early afternoon. Less than an inch is expected south of I-74.
After Sunday, snow may be possible again beginning early Tuesday morning just after midnight, ending in the early afternoon. Snowfall accumulation estimations are unclear for Tuesday.
Through the upcoming snow events, clear and sunny skies will continue into Saturday afternoon ahead of increasing cloud cover in the evening hours. After the Sunday snow, partly cloudy to partly sunny skies are expected through Monday evening. The end of the workweek will be clear and sunny.
