In March, the City of Bloomington approved $2 million in grant aid meant to help local businesses get through the pandemic, and an additional $350,000 was added to the fund by the Bloomington Urban Enterprise Association.
The city's portion comes from the 1 percent Food and Beverage Tax Fund customers have been paying at local establishments since February of 2018.
Loans granted by the city will have to be repaid once the crisis is over.
