DNR Campsites And Inns Reopening Tomorrow With Gov. Holcomb's Stage 3 "Back On Track" Plan

As part of Stage 3 in Gov. Eric Holcomb’s “Back On Track” timeline to reopen the Indiana’s economy, many DNR run facilities will reopen Friday, May 22.

This week, Gov. Holcomb announced most of Indiana would be moving into Stage 3 of reopening Indiana’s economy a couple of days earlier than the originally the expected date-which was Sunday, May 24. 

People can now reserve a DNR campsite or cabin for coming holiday weekend on their website.

This includes sites at Monroe Lake, though Monroe County does have its own health orders in place, putting it behind the rest of the state in reopening by about a week.

In the county’s health order, it states: “Each unit of Government shall direct its staff and govern their buildings and operations as they deem appropriate, provided no conflict exists with the Executive Orders issued by the Governor of Indiana.”

Most inns and restaurants on DNR property will reopen with the exception of Garrison Restaurant at Fort Harrison State Park in Marion County, which will begin menu-only patio seating Sunday.
