Markets, crafts and more in Bloomington
U-Pick flower farm The Seedlings is bringing their flower truck to Simply Primitive on 4445 W. State Road 45 to sell its floral bouquets. The truck will be around from 9 a.m. to noon Friday and Saturday.
Listen to cover band Rush Ridge Revival while you shop local crafts and fine arts from the Fair of the Arts at the city farmers’ market. The market runs from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Showers Common next to City Hall. More than 30 local and regional vendors will be selling handmade crafts and fine arts. A full list of vendors is available on the city’s website.
Sycamore Land Trust is holding a spring plant sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bloomingfoods East parking lot, while supplies last. The sale will include around 2,500 native plants from over 40 different species. Plants will be $4 each.
The Monroe County Fairgrounds is hosting its third-annual vendor market 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5 per car. There will be more than 100 vendors, an antique farm machinery exhibit, a classic car cruise-in, a tractor pull, food trucks and live music.
Bring your mom to the Olive Leaf and Bloomington Chocolate Company from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on East Third Street to build a free three-piece flower bouquet, sponsored by Love in Bloom Weddings. Their Kirkwood Sweet Shop will also be offering free two-piece truffle boxes to moms.
Cup and Kettle Tea is hosting a Queen for a Day tea party for Mother’s Day from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $35 per person for tea service and a craftable keepsake.
Whitehall Pentecostal Church is hosting a Ladies’ Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Beaumont House Chapel. In addition to dinner, there will be games and two guest speakers. Reservation is required.
Gather on North Walnut Street is having a mimosa and craft bar Sunday. Crafts available for purchase include pottery painting, felt and papercraft, lip balm, punch needling and stamped jewelry. Prices range from $12 to $50. Interested groups can stop in any time during the store’s 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. business hours.
Next week, Cardinal Spirits is holding Mother’s Day cocktail classes. The $50 admission includes a cocktail recipe book, recipe cards, a take-home syrup and snacks. The class is 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. May 17.
Outside of Bloomington
The Sunflower Market in Bedford is putting on its spring market Friday and Saturday. Admission is $5 and includes vendors, live music and a petting zoo. Children 12 and younger are free. The first 50 people each day will also get a free tote bag. The market is located at Lambrecht Farm at 5262 Leatherwood Road.
In Terre Haute, check out the Meadows Shopping Center’s Mother’s Day Market, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Also in Terre Haute, the First Congressional Church is hosting a craft bazaar starting at 9 a.m. Saturday. There will be 26 local vendors, and the first 100 moms get a free tote bag.
The Lakehouse Candle Company in Nashville is hosting candle-pouring classes Saturday and Sunday. Classes are $48 and are available in 90-minute blocks.
