From the Cope Environmental Center: Discover the rich African American History of Evansville, learn about Lake Monroe's youth sailing program, and go for a ride with Indy RC Raceway & Hobbies.
The Evansville African American Museum is a lot more than your standard museum, it is a cultural center, a home for grassroots organizers and a time capsule of the communities deep roots in the city. The exhibits tell the often troubling history of race relations in Evansville and in the state of Indiana, while also celebrating a thriving community with a long history of dedication, excellence and a will to survive against overwhelming odds.
