Spring Awakening

Beethoven had a great love of nature and was particularly happy and inspired when in the forest or under the stars. While many of us envision Beethoven as a person with extreme passions and an all-too-intense persona, you can imagine that this stormy individual found a lot of peace on his springtime walks in the countryside outside of Vienna. Perhaps it was this peace that provided the composer inspiration to write the “Spring” Violin Sonata, the fifth violin sonata out of a set of ten he composed in his lifetime. This music shows us a side of Beethoven that doesn’t appear very often in most of his other works. The music is calming, the melodies very memorable, and it is a piece that puts everyone in a fabulously good mood.
