Noon Edition


The movie Chocolat was an Oscar nominee for Best Picture in 2000. The story center around an iconoclastic chocolatier who shakes up the life of a small French town in 1960. After initially meeting with resistance, the confectioner (played by Juliette Binoche) eventually wins over the hearts and palates of the townspeople. Also appearing in the film is Johnny Depp, part of a group of drifters whose appearance causes a crisis in the town. In the film, Depp is portrayed as something of a troubadour, and actually plays the guitar in three of the scenes.
