Now that Black Friday has passed, it's time for "Cyber Monday." Traditionally one of the biggest online shopping days of the year, Cyber Monday may be just what you need to wrap up your holiday shopping after fighting the hustle and bustle of crazed shoppers over the weekend.

While shopping at home may seem more environmentally friendly (no driving to the store, products are often not shipped as far, etc.), there are still some extra steps you can take to make sure your online shopping is as green as possible.

How To Shop "Green"

Planet Green offers some tips and ideas that will make your online shopping the the greenest it can be. Among their suggestions:

  1. Save paper by opting-out of catalogs and other follow-up mailings
  2. Consolidate orders to reduce shipping.
  3. Avoid over-consumption by making a shopping list and sticking to it.
  4. Buy from green retailers (they have a list to get you started)
