Protestors all over the world demonstrated against agribusiness giant Monsanto and genetically modified foods last Saturday.

March Against Monsanto founder Tami Canal told USA Today that if 3,000 people had joined the protest, she would have considered that a success. What resulted were protests in 52 countries and 436 cities.

75 protestors participated in the event at the City Market in downtown Indianapolis.

Jennifer Seffrin of Indy Holistic Hub and Seffrin Synergy Life Coaching helped organize the march. She told said if she had a roll of pictures from the day, it would have looked like "a sea of red heading down the street."

One attendant noted that social movements tend to hit Indiana later than other parts of the country. "Indiana is a trickle-down state," she said. "This is happening nationwide today. Once it comes to Indiana, it means a change is happening."
