Make-Ahead Breakfast Recipes Ease The Morning Rush

Our hectic morning routines often don't allow for a significant amount of cooking time -- like the 45 minutes it takes to cook steel cut oats -- but that doesn't mean you can't have a healthy, hearty breakfast.

Daniel Orr makes two recipes the night before so they're ready to go first thing in the morning.

Cook the steel cut oats the night before and leave it in the pan on the stove. In the morning, the only steps remaining are to reheat the oats and apply the garnish.

As for the Chia Seed Pudding, you'll be surprised how much these tiny black seeds plump up after a night of soaking. (Daniel suggests picking your favorite non-dairy milk.) "The soaked seeds end up looking similar to rice pudding -- gloppy and not especially appetizing -- but don't worry, it tastes great," he says.
