Good News: An Easy Way To Prevent Climate Change

globalwarming

There's been a lot of talk lately about the threat of global warming and the effects humans have on the environment.

Sometimes "fighting" climate change can seem like a pretty daunting task...especially since we're each just one person, constantly having to battle the problems of our everyday lives. Who has time to also take on one of the planet's greatest threats?

Well, a new report from the UK suggests that if people excluded meat from their diet for only two days out of every week, global warming would no longer be a threat to our existence. I bet you're wondering: what does meat have to do with climate change?

Chickens And Cows

Just think about all the energy that goes into producing chickens and cows. On top of that, cows produce large amounts of the greenhouse gas methane.

A recent study done by Friends of the Earth, a global environmental group, found that if more sustainable farming techniques are used, enough food could be supplied to feed the earth's entire population. The best part? This would decrease the amount of greenhouse gases!

In order to actually reduce greenhouse gases, the group suggests eating more locally grown vegetables and refraining from importing bulkier meats like beef and pork.
