Jam enthusiast? Bread baker? It's likely you have a surplus on your hands. Swap it!
DIY food producers are sharing and trading with one another through food swaps -- meetings where bakers, cooks, beekeepers and others interested in local and home producing share goods.
The first Los Angeles food swap took place in March this year and was met with enthusiasm. Using social media to connect, home producers were able to trade their surplus and experience other's creations.
The idea has taken off nationwide -- the Food Swap Network launched officially Monday.
