
It's becoming increasingly common in the U.S. to find chain restaurants operating inside existing stores. More fast food restaurants, like McDonald's, Checkers and Fazoli's, are moving into existing super stores like Target and Walmart.
Fast food restaurants enjoy the benefits of being able to tap into an existing customer base, and they say consumers appreciate the convenience of "one-stop" shopping. Store owners benefit by giving consumers more reasons to visit -- and stay -- at their establishments.
Convenience stores also serve as homes for fast food joints as a way to entice consumers away from from competing stores. Fazoli's opened its first convenience store operation in West Virginia this past year.
