Bloomington Bloggers, Stand Up!

Kelsey Smith homepage

Each week, Earth Eats shares a comprehensive list of links to food media outlets, including but not limited to film, books, photo blogs, websites, video series, and podcasts.

Blogs do an excellent job of providing us tastes into lives of those both near and far, but for this week's food media link list we stick close to home. Here are five bloggers, including students at Indiana University and natives to Bloomington, Indiana, who share photos, recipes and recommendations for good eats.

Kelsey Smith

An undergraduate student studying nutrition, Kelsey Smith keeps it simple by showcasing seasonal fruits and vegetables and farmers' market goods in her recipes. Besides creating beautiful homemade meals, she reviews recipes collected from the web and local restaurants. Her neatly-organized blog presents personal favorites, from food to movies, music, art and travel. Check out her Instagram for seconds.

Megan Betz

A geography graduate student with a background in sustainability and language, Megan Betz brings a distinct perspective to the table. Her blog documents personal reflections and research endeavors, which cover food systems, community-based agriculture and work with the Bloomington Community Orchard.

Midwest Digest

Abby Noroozi dishes on her favorite meals, drinks and desserts from local eateries. Search her archives, complete with photos, when in need of recommendations.

Her Emerald Thumb

As the name may suggest, Her Emerald Thumb is serious about gardening. The blog offers helpful gardening stories for all thumbs -- black and green alike. Stay tuned for the recipe category, which is in the making.

Pink Troll Kitchen

Danielle Kay Riendeau, author behind food blog Pink Troll Kitchen, shares gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan recipes.
