The Sycamore Land Trust preserves southern Indiana's natural heritage

We protect over 8,000 acres of land. It’s a wide variety of landscapes, the types of things that make southern Indiana unique. – Katrina Folsom, Communications Director

Sycamore Land Trust works to preserve the landscape and natural life found in Southern Indiana.

Through ownership and conservation easement agreements, Sycamore Land Trust serves 26 counties. Communications director Katrina Folsom explains, “We’ve got deep hard wood forests, the rolling hills, steep ravines with creeks, some wetlands, a lot of native prairies…It’s a wide variety.”

Sycamore Land Trust was started locally by residents interested in protecting the natural heritage of southern Indiana. Currently, the land trust has 82 properties spread over 15 counties, including Brown, Monroe, Own, and Pike.
