Pets Alive

Pets Alive seeks to reduce the euthanasia rate at area shelters by reducing the number of animals coming into the shelters.

a

The mission of Pets Alive is provide affordable spay and neuter services to pet owners and animal shelters in Monroe County and the sixteen surrounding counties.

Pets Alive seeks to reduce the euthanasia rate at area shelters by reducing the number of animals coming into the shelters.

To achieve this goal, they try to make their spay and neuter services as affordable as possible.

The rate they charge is less than the actual cost of each surgery, but according to Development and Communication Director Charlotte Walker, Pets Alive would like their services to be even more affordable than they are now.  Individuals can contact them for information about vouchers to reduce their rates even further.

In addition to providing spay and neuter services to individual pet owners, Pets Alive also spays and neuters every animal that is put up for adoption at the Bloomington animal shelter (called Bloomington Animal Care and Control).

Pets Alive also has a low-cost vaccination clinic.
