The NATAS Central Great Lakes Chapter announced late last month that WTIU Public Television received 16 regional Emmy Award nominations.
WTIU’s travel series, Journey Indiana received seven nominations in the categories of magazine format, lifestyle, historical/cultural feature, health/medical, arts/entertainment, and video essay.
Four WTIU documentaries received nine nominations: Wes Montgomery at 100: A 100th Birthday Tribute Concert earned two nominations for entertainment and technical achievement; The Indiana Theatre at 100: The Evolution of the Buskirk-Chumley received one nomination in the historical category; Wes Bound: The Genius of Wes Montgomery earned three nominations for director, editor, and best cultural documentary; and Over There: Hoosier Heroes of WWI received three nominations in the historical, photographer, and musical composition categories.
The Central Great Lakes Emmy Awards recognize excellence in television among its members in Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The winners of the Central Great Lakes Emmy Awards will be announced on June 22 at the Great Lakes Emmy Awards event in Cleveland.
