Despite operating at half capacity, Fourwinds Marina on Lake Monroe is sold out of boat rentals and hotel rooms for the entire Memorial Day holiday weekend.
“We normally have a fleet of about 54 boats, I believe we have 25 in operation right now for the weekend,” General Manager Tony Suttile said.
To ensure social distancing, Suttile said only half of the 118 guest rooms have been rented for the holiday weekend. He added that boats at the marina will be spaced far enough apart so guests aren’t too close.
The restaurant on the property only will serve parties of eight or less.Tables and chairs will be sanitized after each use.
“It’s Memorial weekend, we’re used to being busy anyway and when you are operating at 50 percent, it’s going to take a little bit longer, so not everyone can show up at the restaurant at the same time, because they are not going to be seated and served at the same time,” Suttile said.
Plexiglass screens are in place in the resort lobby and in the restaurant.Workers will be wearing masks but customers are not required to do so.
