The Columbus based company will open two of its three plants shuttered since April due to the coronavirus.
Spokesperson Jon Mills says the Columbus engine plant, fuel systems plant and the Seymour engine plant will open Monday.
“We’re going to have site entry screenings, temperature checks, and questions before anyone can come in,” he says.
Cummins will maintain extensive cleaning and sanitation measures in highly-trafficked areas.
“We’re also going to be looking at how we stagger shifts, and do things differently, to maintain social distancing guidelines as well,” Mills says.
Some employees in the corporate office will continue to work from home.
Cummins Mid Range plant in Walesboro, Ind. will remain closed indefinitely since it produces engines for Fiat-Chrysler, a company not currently manufacturing or assembling vehicles.
