My Sister’s Closet

My Sister's Closet of Bloomington markets itself as "a bargain boutique...with a mission."

My Sister’s Closet of Bloomington markets itself as “a bargain boutique…with a mission.” The store provides free professional clothes, such as business casual attire, scrubs, maternity clothes, and full suits, to women entering or re-entering the workforce. My Sister’s Closet also holds interview preparation workshops that are available to anyone interested in honing their skills as they apply for jobs.

Women can shop at the store using vouchers provided by over 40 local service agencies. Each voucher recipient receives two complete outfits, including shoes and accessories; a haircut and manicure; and three more outfits when she is ready to begin her new job. Those who don’t qualify for vouchers or choose not to go through a social service agency can shop at the store, which helps support their mission.
