Girl Scouts of Central Indiana

Girl Scouts of Central Indiana oversees programming for over 41,000 Girl Scouts.

I watch girls come to us shy, or not really knowing what they love, and they explore. We give them an opportunity to try a myriad of things, and in that you see an awakening in the girls, you see their eyes sparkle when they try new things and succeed. And to watch a girl succeed you know that’s the beginning of all the successes she’ll have in life. –Deborah Hearn Smith

Girl Scouts of Central Indiana oversees programs for over 41,000 Girl Scouts in the area. Deborah Hearn Smith, CEO of Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, says the organization seeks to fulfill the Girl Scouts’ mission to “build girls of courage, character, and confidence who make the world a better place.”

In addition to the long-standing tradition of Girl Scout camping, Girl Scouts of Central Indiana provides programs such as wildlife tracking and cultural education for younger girls, and leadership training, self-defense, and healthy relationships programs for older Scouts. Girl Scouts of Central Indiana also holds programs in their Math & Science Van, which brings science experiments, computers, and math activities to Girl Scouts across the region.
