The Foundation for Autism Resources (FAR) helps families find the resources they need to help children with autism and their families. One service that is a focus of FAR is an intensive, behavioral therapy. It’s known as ABA therapy, and FAR will connect families that could not otherwise afford the therapy with providers of this service.
FAR Executive Director Shana Ritter says, “I had one mom say to me, ‘You know, my kids have never played a board game together and with the help of an ABA therapist in my home, my kids actually sat down and played a board game together.”
Ritter says that she sees the service as something that affects many lives. Ritter says, “It can have an entire impact on [the] child, family and community.”
FAR works with children in southern and central Indiana, and provides funding to families who might otherwise not be able to afford autism related services like ABA therapy.
