The Monroe County Library will offer curbside pickup beginning May 26. The program will operate only at the main branch, and run 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
To access curbside service, patrons may call the library and request the books they want. A staff member will assign them a time for pickup.
Service will be through the entrance doors by the main parking lot. There, people will receive a recyclable bag with their materials inside.
Mandy Hussey is the Communications and Marketing Manager for the library. She says book orders only may be made over the phone. People who've had books on hold during the library's closure can call and make an appointment to pick books up once the service starts.
“We will not be scheduling appointments until Tuesday, May 26, so calling prior to that they won’t be able to get ahead of the game or anything like that,” Hussey says.
To prevent spread of infection, Hussey says patrons will not interact with staff during pick-ups. All returned books will be quarantined for five days.
Hussey says materials may be returned through the slot on Kirkwood Avenue on May 26.
