The Bloomington Farmers’ Market is merging its online ordering system with a walk-through pickup system for customers starting Saturday, May 2.
"The customer response to the online Farmers' Market has been tremendous so far, and is a testament to the relationships Farmers' Market vendors have made with their local customers over the years," says Farmers' Market coordinator Marcia Veldman.
The city says customers must place their orders online ahead of time. On site purchases are not allowed in order to keep everyone safe and socially distant from one another.
Other guidelines that will be implemented include:
75 customer maximum allowed in the market at once
750 cap on total online orders
Customers have specific pickup times
One-way flow of foot traffic inside the market with a single entrance and exit
All vendors must wear masks and disposable gloves
"We are grateful for the guidance of the Monroe County Health Department as we provide an outlet for vendor products in the form of essential, healthy, local food while recognizing the seriousness of this public health issue,” Veldman says.
