Much of the severe thunderstorm watch has been canceled as the severe threat has diminished.
Thunderstorm wind damage and flooding are the primary reports coming in from the National Weather Service. Indianapolis reports rainfall of 3.40 inches. Odon in Daviess Co. reports trees, utility poles and farm shed damage due to 60 MPH winds. A resident reports one inch hail fell in Vigo Co.
Just less than 23,000 residents are without power according to IPL of Indianapolis. Duke Energy is now reporting just less than 6,500 people are without power in south central Indiana.
The forecast does clear up. Expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 80s through Monday.

5:45 p.m. UPDATE
Another strong line of storms approaching south central Indiana from the west moving 45 MPH. 60 MPH wind gusts are expected as thunderstorm warnings continue to be issued.
So far we have reports of half inch hail in Vigo and Martin Co., flooding in Broad Ripple, wind damage in Indianapolis with loss of power in Irvington and 60 MPH winds in Daviess Co.
Duke Energy reports just under 9,000 people are without power while IPL in Indy reports more then 23,000 without power.

National Weather Service officials have now issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for most of south central Indiana until 11:00 p.m.
Primary threats include scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph and isolated large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect throughout south central Indiana. The storms are moving east at 15 MPH and contain 60 MPH wind gusts and quarter size hail.

2:15 p.m. UPDATE
Forecasters at the National Weather Service say thunderstorms will move over the state this afternoon. Some of these storms could be severe with damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 10:00 p.m. for far southern Indiana including Jasper, Paoli and Salem.
Weather officials say to expect some sunshine and high temperatures into the mid 80s to low 90s. Heat index values could approach 100 this afternoon.
