Purdue President To Depart
From WBAA News in Lafayette, administration changes at Purdue University:
Purdue’s president will step down from the position next summer.
France Córdova announced Friday afternoon she will finish out the final year of her five year contract and then move on.
Córdova turns 65 in August of next year, which is the mandatory age for retirement as Purdue president, unless the board of trustees grants an extension. She says the decision is best for her, her family, and the university.
She says she came to the decision about a week ago and thinks now is the time because it gives the board of trustees nearly a year to pick her successor.
Córdova began serving as president in July of 2007 after working for five years as the Chancellor of University of California Riverside.
